The Battle of the Sexes …

Today I’ve learnt a new lesson.

“Don’t base your actions on feelings instead base them on decision.”

I couldn’t agree more.

So let me share something because I’ve decided it will change your life … Well, if you let it …

I have been called a hater because I tell it as it is. Keeping quiet is not my cup of tea. Silence is good but not at all times. If you are silent, try writing. It will be therapeutic. Don’t bottle things up inside you.

I know some people want me to be a silent good girl on paper. How about a trip to the Sun? Have fun.

People want me to shush about some things and be a good girl. Well, to hell with that. I am outspoken and blunt. Deal with it!

People are hard to handle and manage. How I got an “A” in managing people beats me!

You thought I wasn't a genius in something? Think again. Everybody is good at something. You just have to find that something.

But I know there is living “life” and living “grades”.

Those two are different. Very different.

I do not want to come off as “stuck up” but a writer must be a critique. If you write about anything, you

must be able to analyze things clearly using logic. There is no way to do this without a little critism. If there is, enlighten me.

Not everyone will get your drift but that’s okay. Don’t wait for understanding. Do your thing.

Now, why do I say the battle? I have read several articles on men and women and I end up laughing. Not because the articles are funny but because no one gets the other. Like for real!

If they do, all the article does is focus on the negative aspect of the writer’s opposite sex without recognizing how detrimental this could be to that bashed sex. Who told people bashing works?

It doesn’t! It just shows your flaws and inability to match your sex! It tells the audience you are not good enough. You doubt yourself.

This is where silence becomes golden. You look the fool because of your silence but actually you are strong. You are capable and very smart. Yes, you sacrifice a lot but in the end you get paid handsomely.

When you intervene in the battle of the sexes, and try to bridge the gap, you become “the bad one”. Maybe you are telling about something you don’t like in your sex. You are labeled a “woman hater”. If it is something you don’t like in men, either you don’t get them or you hate them. Seriously?

No wonder people prefer silence!!!

You want me to ignore my itch? Well’ I don’t think so!

It has reached a point where the sex type does not come to mind anymore. If something is weird, it is weird. Man or woman that does not warrant my understanding. No!

It is sexist to think that I should understand flaws in my sex. It is also sexist to want me to assume the flaws in men. I don’t think I am sexist. And more so, I don’t have to agree with everything I read. Not really!

But, depending with circumstances, I will support someone for his/her stand in something.

One of my weird points is the fact that I love a certain male column. Many ladies hate these columns. I don’t agree with everything in it. I think some of it is just warped thinking. However, the writing skill is a gift. You can’t argue with that.

Now, I have found a feminine column that I just love. There is so much truth to it and the writing is amazing. Funny, the writers are male.

No, I don’t hate women. I respect them. They are a force to reckon with. Coming this far in the world is no joke! Men would have given up a long time ago!

No wonder women confuse men! Call them an Enigma! They are!

But, these battles of the sexes baffle me. What are they for? Be proud of who you are. Don’t read too much into the other. Ignore people’s banter. On most occasions, they talk to look good and console themselves.

All jobs are like that. Even businesses feel superior to each other. They look down on each other. They want to be the best. The truth is everyone and everything everyone does is very important.

Passion defines the difference.

You look down on the street sweeper. If you were asked to sweep, we’d be tittering in garbage.

Respect that person. No, I didn’t say you hop into bed with them. Respect them and move along.

The lawyer has been labeled a thief. Well, what about our courts? Who will fight for your cause?

I think you are just mean with your mullah and yet you want to win! Let a lawyer be a lawyer. They also have their own issues to handle. Don’t pick on their strength. They need it to survive.

Anyway, how mean are you. You must be a loser! There is no way you will keep money in the bank and wait for it to grow. You earn more money with informed spending.

That lawyer can save your collapsing business even if you really paid for those services.

The doctor has seen enough unnecessary folds. He or She can tear those eyes out of their sockets. You do need treatment, don’t you? Or sickness and checkups are not your thing? Wow!

He or She is mean because she/he has opened up a private practice. Who told you the government pays well? It’s an abuse! Even several diploma holders earn better than the doctors. Yeah, the doctors want to be paid well. Don’t you?

The funny thing is that life is not fair. Doctors really read and earn peanuts! (Hata njugu ni kubwa. Sim Sim)(Translation: Even peanuts are big in size. Sesame)

That takes guts and a calling. Otherwise you will waste away slowly. Helping people is not everybody’s thing.

And you ask why they opt to down their tools when they’ve had enough?

I agree with their decision.

No life at all for the surgeon. She or He will die in the operating room. Who will remove those tumors in you then? Or straighten those limbs you managed to get all tangled up in an accident.

You say they take up all your wealth. Yes, the surgeon takes home two-thirds of what you pay for an operation. I don’t know how several surgeons divide it. I really don’t.

But, what do you need most? Your money or your health?

Let me answer that! You want to keep your money. You need, your health. Needs before wants.

The thing is, stop fighting and take a moment to appreciate what everyone does. It makes this world a better place to live in.

Man or woman, both make this world a better place. One cannot do without the other. Whatever we have been conditioned to think, it is not true that any sex is better. Both sexes have flaws. Both sexes are no better than each other. Each sex has its own challenges to face.

We could put the time we use to fight into good use if only we can stop with the useless fights. These fights are not worth anybody’s salt.

I tried to get one of my male friend an online job. It was very difficult. In the end, I realized things may not be so smooth as a guy. It’s just a fake picture that is well drawn. It is even easier to be a lady. I am not excusing men. Man up if you are a man!

Of course there are the opportunists. They’ll rob you of your hard-earned cash in broad daylight. These are the kind of people that give professions a bad name. But they can be found in every field so do your thing and forget about other people.

The opportunists can’t hide forever. Soon enough, they’ll be found out.

Don’t be sexist about it. It will just be another opinion in a world full of them.
