Of Callings …

People may not understand why you chose one path and forewent another. Sometimes, it is the calling that guides us. Trust me, it is never wrong. I’m yet to see someone who said the calling cheated him. But, that’s just me …
Sometimes it is hard to make a decision, but the calling guides you. It also manifests itself as a passion for something. You should not expect anything from it except to do what is right for you.  It has an unnatural guidance. It will help you make the right choice. Trust me, not all choices are good for you. However attractive!
Anyway, those who know their strengths are at an advantage as they can almost always make the right decision. Those who don’t know should just keep looking. A field not for you will just bog you down. You won’t enjoy the ride.
It is like in school. Your strength says it all. Unfortunately, not all strengths are covered there, hence people leave thinking they are stupid because they never made it in class. Not really! Not every genius is born in class. In fact, most geniuses were labeled as “stupid” in class. Einstein is an example.

I have discovered that there are people who have unsung gifts. They rarely impart this gift to the world as the world does not recognize its value. These people feel the need to hide among the crowd when they could have shone so bright until hiding would have become impossible. Sometimes, standing from the crowd is just what you need.
Sometimes the world recognizes the value in such people but, unfavorable circumstances do not favor the outcomes. These are merely challenges. On most occasions, they sharpen your understanding and bring out the best in you.
Identifying the challenge can really help you. It eliminates failure and giving up is never an option here. That is what is needed to be able to succeed. Callings are never that easy.
That reminds me of a true story.
I once had a buddy. It was a she. She really wanted to do medicine. She had been called to do a hospitality course where I was. This course ensured your weekends were free. Thursdays and Fridays were also free. People like free sessions.
This girl wrote letters. She wrote letters to the UN, the Vice Chancellor of the school, she wanted to attend and several other letters were written. I have no idea to whom. I had no idea then and I have no idea now!
All of her time was spent in the post office. I admired her zeal. Nothing could deter her. Nothing!
She did not go to class, but rather she preferred to write letters. She slept when she was free. This girl had a passion.
She told me she could not do anything that didn’t put pressure on her. The course she had been called to do was a joke! Free is an understatement!
She wanted to work, schedules and little time to waste.
Her mum got concerned. She told her to go home. If there was nothing she was doing, then, home would be preferable to all. It would not ease her burdens, but her mum would surely console her.
She really cried.
Her dad could do nothing about it. He did not have the necessary resources. So he said. He didn’t even try to help his daughter. Whatever his reasons, that’s a major flaw!Who says it is about resources? Being there really counts.
Anyway, sometimes only you can help yourself. The other people just watch you as you struggle. But, only you get to enjoy any benefits.
I pitied her, but there was nothing I could do. I swear if I had links then, I’d have helped her. Unfortunately the Doctors I knew dealt with plants!!! They are Doctors because they possess PH.D's.
Her grades wouldn’t allow her to get into a parallel session. This is where you pay your entire campus fee. Other students pay less because of the government subsidy.
By the way this girl’s dad was a doctor. I don’t know what her mum did, but it was something relevant.
Actually, the guy never understood what was driving her girl. He tried to discourage her, but she was relentless.
I’ve never seen such passion! Even today! That girl inspired me.
She may not know, but I’d want to be handled by such a doctor. By the way, I’ll find out her whereabouts.
I also have a he buddy who dropped a CDC job to go back to school and do medicine. He loves it. His story is also an inspiration. Too bad, it will take me forever to tell it. I think I'll pass.

For those who don’t know, CDC pays well. He chose to follow his passion instead. I love that.
I’ve never considered their decision to be based on falsehood. I actually respect such decisions.
Anyway, this girl came for her stuff later. It turned out that the VC had received her letter and allowed her to study with government subsidies all her entire medical life in school.
The UN had paid for her first years’ fee in the Parallel session. She was elated!
In the end, she did what she wanted.
I have no idea what she decided to do with UN and the VC’s offer, but I’m sure she is a Doctor somewhere.
Now, that’s what we call passion. Callings can make you go crazy but they are to your success in the end. I think every genius has some "crazy" in them.
It may look crazy, but not everyone is like anyone else. Everyone is unique

Now, I should copy these people!!! I am inspired!!!
